Morgan State University

In Baltimore, Maryland, United state the Morgan State  University is the historically black college. The Maryland designated by public urban university and the largest HSBC in Maryland is Morgan.The centenary biblical institute changed its named to Morgan college to honor reverend Lyttleton Morgan in the 1890 ,the first chairman of its board of the trustees who had donated land to the colleges.In 1975 it became a university. The member of Thurmond Marshall college fund is MSU. MSU is not a part ot the university of the Maryland although it is a public institution  where the school opted out and possesses its own governing boards of the regent.In the 1867 Morgan state university was found as the centenary biblical institute for  a Methodist episcopal seminary to train young men in the ministry. Thomas Kelsey  co founder and president of the director at the time of his
death endowed the male free school and the colored institute through a legacy of his estate.Educated and for the both men and women as a teachers were later broadened its mission.In 1890 the school was renamed as morgan college.
In honor of the reverend Lyttleton Morgan the first chairman of its board of the trustees who donated land to the collages.George F mcmechen first baccalaureate of degree was awarded by the institution in 1895 after whom the building of the school business and management is named today.Yale university was a law degree later obtained by George F mcmechen and later became one of the Morgans main  financial supporters.The school a grant of $50000 for a central academic building was given by Andrew Carnegie in 1915. The terms of grand considered the purchase of the of a new site for the college payment of the all outstanding obligation and the construction of a building to be named after him.In 1917 in the northeast Baltimore the college met the conditions and moved to present the site. Until 1939 the Morgan college remained a private institution.The state study determined Thad Maryland needed to provide more opportunities for the black citizen.
